One of my favorite wildflowers in Colorado is the wild iris! I love the habitat as well--always where there is water. They bloom in mid spring and do not last long, so you have to make it a point to go out and search! These beauties were found on a trail in our newest park called Staunton Park, but they can be found in many other areas in the foothills.

Well, I guess it's time to tell about myself! I have always been a photographer/artist, but somehow ended up getting an undergraduate degee in psychology and a masters in teaching curriculum. I have taught middle school language arts for 13 years, as well as digital photography as an elective. Years ago, I attended Bucks County Community College, a well know art and photography school, where some pretty famous photographers had taught. Then I attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC, so I have had some training in photography, but like anything else, unless you are out there making mistakes you will not become a decent photographer.
