This was an area that had recently been closed for about a week due to a wildfire. I was anxious to get back to this area to see what was left of it. I fully expected to see large areas of burned forests, but was excited and releived to see this part of the Platte River untouched. It was a sweet reunion and the Platte seemed even more lovely than I had remembered! The water was extra blue as it flowed during this hour of twighlight.

Well, I guess it's time to tell about myself! I have always been a photographer/artist, but somehow ended up getting an undergraduate degee in psychology and a masters in teaching curriculum. I have taught middle school language arts for 13 years, as well as digital photography as an elective. Years ago, I attended Bucks County Community College, a well know art and photography school, where some pretty famous photographers had taught. Then I attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC, so I have had some training in photography, but like anything else, unless you are out there making mistakes you will not become a decent photographer.
