Description
The canyons that the Platte River runs through are all beautiful, but this stretch is wild! The rocks are strangely shaped and seem to force the water into many different directions. One this particular day the weather forecast and the skies were ominous! By the time we hit the trail into the canyon, the rain began to fall. Soon the weather became frightening and even though there was torrential rain and very close and violent lightening and thunder, crazy people like myself decided to wait out the storm, taking refuge under large boulders or thick conifer trees. I was determined to get photos and others on the river were determined to fly fish! After all this is a gold medal fishing spot!
