Artist's Description

The canyons that the Platte River runs through are all beautiful,but this stretch is wild! The rocks are strangely shaped and seem to force the water into many different directions. One this particular day the weather forecast and the skies were ominous! By the time we hit the trail into the canyon, the rain began to fall. Soon the weather became frightening and even though there was torrential rain and very close and violent lightening and thunder, crazy people like myself decided to wait out the storm, taking refuge under large boulders or thick conifer trees. I was determined to get photos and others on the river were determined to fly fish! After all this is a gold medal fishing spot!

Well, I guess it's time to tell about myself! I have always been a photographer/artist, but somehow ended up getting an undergraduate degee in psychology and a masters in teaching curriculum. I have taught middle school language arts for 13 years, as well as digital photography as an elective. Years ago, I attended Bucks County Community College, a well know art and photography school, where some pretty famous photographers had taught. Then I attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC, so I have had some training in photography, but like anything else, unless you are out there making mistakes you will not become a decent photographer.
